Trump Appoints Bolton as National Security Advisor, Dems Whine

March 23, 2018

Everybody pursues their national interests. The only one who gets blamed for it is the United States. – John Bolton

FoxNews.com reports that

President Trump announced Thursday that former United Nations Amb. John Bolton will replace Gen. H.R. McMaster as his National Security Adviser effective April 9 — the latest in a growing list of White House staff shakeups over the past year.

“I am pleased to announce that, effective 4/9/18, @AmbJohnBolton will be my new National Security Advisor. I am very thankful for the service of General H.R. McMaster who has done an outstanding job & will always remain my friend. There will be an official contact handover on 4/9,” Trump tweeted.

The president’s announcement came after months of speculation over whether McMaster would resign or be fired from his post.

Bolton told Fox News’ “The Story” Thursday evening, “I didn’t really expect that announcement this afternoon, but it’s obviously a great honor. It’s always an honor to serve our country and I think particularly in these times internationally, it’s a particular honor.”

But on Thursday evening, a White House official said that the president and McMaster “mutually agreed” that he would resign from his post. The two have been discussing this for some time, the official said, noting that the timeline was expedited as they both felt it was important to have a new team in place, instead of constant speculation.

A White House official said the decision was not related to any one moment or incident, but rather the result of ongoing conversations between the two.

The official told Fox News that the move has been contemplated for some time, and was just about the “worst-kept secret” in Washington.

The president took his time to find a replacement for McMaster because he wanted the “right person.”

While Trump spoke to Bolton many times about the job, the deal was cemented in an Oval Office meeting between the two Thursday afternoon.

Bolton told Fox News’ Martha MacCallum that the process of his hiring “came to a conclusion this afternoon, but … there’s still a transition. I look forward to working with H.R. and his team and the other senior members of the president’s team on national security and I have no doubt there’s a lot of work to do.”

Bolton has previously served as a Fox News contributor, as well as in the in the Republican administrations of Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush, and served as a Bush lawyer during the 2000 Florida recount.

A strong supporter of the Iraq war and an advocate for aggressive use of American power in foreign policy, Bolton was unable to win Senate confirmation after his nomination to the U.N. post alienated many Democrats and even some Republicans. He resigned after serving 17 months as a Bush “recess appointment,” which allowed him to hold the job on a temporary basis without Senate confirmation. The position of White House national security adviser does not require Senate confirmation.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., criticized Bolton’s appointment.

“Mr. Bolton’s tendency to try to solve every geopolitical problem with the American military first is a troubling one,” Schumer said. “I hope he will temper his instinct to commit the men and women of our armed forces to conflicts around the globe, when we need to be focused on building the middle class here at home.”

Because Obama, Clinton’s, and Kerry’s Neville Chamberlain Style of Foreign Policy worked so well.

“I dare you to cross that Red Line! I double-dog dare you!”

Over the next several days, the Dems will be all over the Main Stream Media, having a temper tantrum over the President’s choice of John Bolton for his next National Security Advisor.

The National Security Advisor manages the daily creation and implementation of foreign policy and acts as a foreign policy advisor. Bolton will serve in an advisory role to the secretary of state and the secretary of defense, as well as the president.

That being the case, in order to put the upcoming Democrat temper tantrum over Bolton’s appointment in perspective, I believe that is important to remember the disaster that was America’s Foreign Policy under Barack Hussein Obama.

Before Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm) ascended to the throne of The Regime, he did something no other candidate for American President has ever done.  He campaigned in Europe, where he was treated like a rock star, by both the Europeans and the sycophantic Main Stream Media.  This set the stage for Obama’s Foreign Policy efforts as President.

There were so many issues that weakened America on the world stage as Obama pursued his Foreign Policy, it’s hard to know where to begin.  Come along as I try to relate a few high (low?) points.

1.  The World Apology Tour – Shortly after he took office, President Obama set off for the first of a two-part “World Apology Tour”.   After less than 100 days, he had apologized on three continents for what he viewed as the sins of America and previous presidents.

Per Karl Rove:

Mr. Obama told the French (the French!) that America “has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive” toward Europe.  In Prague, he said America has “a moral responsibility to act” on arms control because only the U.S. had “used a nuclear weapon.” In London, he said that decisions about the world financial system were no longer made by “just Roosevelt and Churchill sitting in a room with a brandy” — as if that were a bad thing. And in Latin America, he said the U.S. had not “pursued and sustained engagement with our neighbors” because we “failed to see that our own progress is tied directly to progress throughout the Americas.”

By apologizing to the world, then-White House Press Secretary Robert “Baghdad Bob” Gibbs said that Scooter had “changed the image of America around the world” and made the U.S. “safer and stronger.”

Having the British call him “President Pantywaist” made us “safer and stronger”?

2.  Global War on Terror –  In a memo e-mailed the week of March 25th, 2009, in the middle of the World Apology Tour, to Pentagon staff members, the Defense Department’s office of security review proclaimed that “this administration prefers to avoid using the term ‘Long War’ or ‘Global War on Terror’ [GWOT.] Please use ‘Overseas Contingency Operation.’ ”  And so it began.

On Thursday, June 4th, 2009 at the University of Cairo, Obama addressed the Muslim World.  Here is an excerpt from the 6:35 a.m. speech:

Islam has a proud tradition of tolerance. We see it in the history of Andalusia and Cordoba during the Inquisition. I saw it firsthand as a child in Indonesia, where devout Christians worshiped freely in an overwhelmingly Muslim country. That is the spirit we need today. People in every country should be free to choose and live their faith-based lives upon the persuasion of the mind, heart, and soul. This tolerance is essential for religion to thrive, but it is being challenged in many different ways.

Among some Muslims, there is a disturbing tendency to measure one’s own faith by the rejection of another’s. The richness of religious diversity must be upheld – whether it is for Maronites in Lebanon or the Copts in Egypt. And fault lines must be closed among Muslims as well, as the divisions between Sunni and Shia have led to tragic violence, particularly in Iraq.

Freedom of religion is central to the ability of peoples to live together. We must always examine the ways in which we protect it. For instance, in the United States, rules on charitable giving have made it harder for Muslims to fulfill their religious obligation. That is why I am committed to working with American Muslims to ensure that they can fulfill zakat.

Likewise, it is important for Western countries to avoid impeding Muslim citizens from practicing religion as they see fit – for instance, by dictating what clothes a Muslim woman should wear. We cannot disguise hostility towards any religion behind the pretence of liberalism.

Scooter believed that by reaching out to the Muslim world through changing and softening our terminology as it pertained to the Jihad declared against the United States by Muslim Extremists, his administration would make huge inroads in America’s relationship with the Islamic World.  It actually accomplished nothing but to encourage our enemies, as evidenced by the increased number of attacks by Muslim Extremists here in our country during his time as President.

3.  Smart Power! – At her confirmation hearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Secretary of State nominee Hillary Clinton said:

We must use what has been called smart power, the full range of tools at our disposal—diplomatic, economic, military, political, legal, and cultural—picking the right tool, or combination of tools, for each situation. With smart power, diplomacy will be the vanguard of our foreign policy. This is not a radical idea. The ancient Roman poet Terence declared that “in every endeavor, the seemly course for wise men is to try persuasion first.” The same truth binds wise women as well.

Excessive humility has never been one of Hil’s problems.

Of course, Smart Power led to Arab Spring, which replaced Moderate Muslim Dictators, with Radical Muslim Dictators, backed by the Muslim Brotherhood. Great plan, y’all.

4.  Afghanistan – When Obama took office, he announced that Afghanistan was the true center of extremist activities.  He then told us that the Overseas Contingency Operation would be making a hard pivot from the main focus being on Iran to the main focus being on Afghanistan.  From there, he decided that the mountainous country of Pakistan (pronounced by the president, Pock-ee-stahn) was where all the truly evil Extremists were hiding.  He had two problems with this strategy:  the mountainous geography and unfriendly government of  Pock-ee-stahn.  Obama was advised by his military advisors that the best strategy was to use unmanned drones to attack Taliban (pronounced Tawl-ee-bohn by Obama) strongholds.  While the drones were very successful in killing members of the Tawl-ee-bohn, they have occasionally killed civilians as well.   That did not endeared us to that country’s government. Obama subsequently pulled out the majority of troops in Afghanistan, only recently to have had to send troops back in again.

While no President can control the actions of other countries come in their own affairs, the position of President of the United States has not historically been referred to as the Leader of the Free World for no reason.

That position has historically been the Vanguard in the fight against despotism and tyranny.

Unfortunately, for lovers of freedom the world over, instead of being the leader that the world and America itself needed, Barack Hussein Obama instead was an example of the Peter Principle.

He rose to his level of incompetence.

As I mentioned earlier, Obama believed in a “Chamberlain-esque” Foreign Policy of appeasement, consisting of vague warnings, pay-offs, and drawing red lines in the sand.

It didn’t work.

President Donald J. Trump has shown over the past 15 months that he believes in and is a practitioner of President Ronald Reagan’s Foreign Policy of “Peace Through Strength.”

New National Security Advisor John Bolton shares that philosophy as well.

And, that upsets the Democrat Elite to no end.

Knowing that, I feel safer already.

Until He Comes,

KJ

Why is a Military Parade Okay in 2014, “Militaristic” in 2018?

February 11, 2018

There are some who’ve forgotten why we have a military. It’s not to promote war, it’s to be prepared for peace. – Ronald Reagan

On Sunday, April 13, 2014, The New York Daily News ran the following story…

Soldiers of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars stood Sunday with Sen. Chuck Schumer to call for a ticker-tape parade along the historic Canyon of Heroes in lower Manhattan.

Schumer (D-N.Y.) says the Big Apple should host a bells-and-whistles procession to honor vets of the two post-9/11 campaigns.

“With the war in Afghanistan winding down, now is the time to keep with longstanding American tradition and kick off a campaign for the first New York City welcome home parade for troops that served in Iraq and Afghanistan,” Schumer said, flanked by vets of several wars on Broadway at the Bowling Green bull statue.

“With the completion of the Afghanistan combat mission expected at the end of this year, and with Iraq’s official end far behind us, it’s time for New York to stake its claim and for the Department of Defense to join in planning this welcome home celebration.”

Schumer said he secured Mayor de Blasio’s blessing Saturday.

“The brave men and women who have selflessly served our nation with courage and skill in Iraq and Afghanistan deserve a recognition for their sacrifice,” de Blasio said. “I stand with Senator Schumer in his call for a parade to honor our veteran heroes, and New York City would be proud to host this important event.”

Ever since President Trump announced his wish to have a Military Parade to honor our Best and Brightest, Modern American Liberals have been freaking out like the millennials who are staging wakes when their favorite fast food restaurant closes.

Now, to be fair, they are not alone.

There are those on the other side of the political aisle who object to this idea as well, stating that it is something that one would see under an authoritarian regime, and that it would be more prudent to spend the costs of such a parade on bettering Veterans’ Benefits and improving the care that Veterans receive at VA Hospitals.

Taken at face value, these are legitimate points.

However, the President’s wish is not without precedent.

According to Smithsonianmag.org,

Military parades outside of holidays such as Veterans Day, the Fourth of July or Memorial Day aren’t typical in this country in recent decades, but there is a history of them.

These parades date back to the early days of our nation and continued through the 20th Century, at the end of Word War II, at President John F. Kennedy’s Inauguration, and, most recently, in 1991, when 8,000 troops marched down Constitution Avenue in Washington, DC, celebrating the end of the Persian Gulf War. The ceremony featured a fireworks show that evening, attended by 800,000 Americans.

As far as the objections being brought by the Far Left-controlled Democratic Party…

wanted to use their money to further his socialization of America, Obama placed our Armed Forces in an untenable situation.

Distinguished American Veteran, Former United States Representative Lt. Col. Allen B. West once wrote the following, concerning Obama’s treatment of our Armed Forces:

Barack Hussein Obama cannot be seen as a Commander-in-Chief and I will never refer to him that way. His fundamental transformation of America means weakening our nation and leaving our Republic less secure. I can just imagine how appreciative and elated his Muslim Brotherhood friends are at this point, to include Turkey’s President Erdogan, as well as the mad mullahs in Iran.

Spot on.

I remember my ex-brother-in-law, Dave. My late step-sister met him at the USO in Memphis during the Vietnam War. David was a Polish Catholic from outside of Detroit, a Navy guy who received his training in the computers of the day, while in service to our country. When he got out, they got married and moved to Dearborn (now Dearbornistan), Michigan, where he got a job with Burroughs. I remember Dave, because he was always good to me, even though I was just a runt kid, 15 years younger than him. I remember him cleaning his service rifle, sitting on the living room floor of our house, and, making sure it was empty, allowing me to to hold it. At the time, I thought that was the coolest thing I had ever done.

I also remember John. John was a friend of my sister’s, who stayed with us, because of problems at home. As I have related before, my folks were the ones whom all my sister’s friends would talk to when they had trouble at home. John was great guy, as well, who wound up enlisting and serving in that “crazy Asian War”, as Kenny Rogers and Mel Tillis once referred to it in song.

I have related before about my own Daddy and my Uncles, and their service in World War II. I have also had friends that served over the years, and one who is still serving in the Air National Guard.

All of these men were/are Patriots. They enlisted out of duty to God and Country.

Our Brightest and Best, who wear the uniform today, are no less dedicated. They deserve to be treated with respect, not as pawns in a game of political expediency, whose rules as followed by the Previous Presidential Administration. included social experimentation, political correctness, and blatant disrespect by the then-Commander-in-Chief himself.

The greatest American President in my lifetime, Ronald Reagan, once said,

Of the four wars in my lifetime, none came about because the U.S. was too strong.

Reagan was a realist. He realized that, as President Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt once advised, the best way to keep America safe, is to “Speak softly and carry a big stick”.

We suffered for 8 long years under a president who spoke like a wuss and carried a feather pillow, a Mexican Flag, and a prayer rug.

And, you wonder why our Best and Brightest always erupt appreciation for their Present Commander-in-Chief, Donald J. Trump?

They are simply happy that they once again have a Commander-in-Chief who appreciates them. And, one who actually has their back for a change.

While Barack Hussein Obama was our Armed Forces Commander in-Chief (Thank God, he isn’t any more), the responsibility for everything that happened to the men and women serving in our armed forces, in which some part of our federal government is involved, both during and after their service, fell on his shoulders and his alone.

Through his treatment of our Heroes as “ancillary” servants to be used for social experimentation and budget cutting, when he wanted to use their money to further his socialization of America, Obama placed our Armed Forces in an untenable situation.

As Americans, we should show them that we have their backs, as well.

While a small token at best, the parade which President Trump has proposed would be a step in that direction.

Muslim Activist Linda Sarsour Calls Out Chuck Schumer About “White Men Negotiating on the Backs of People of Color”

February 9, 2018

770369_linda-sarsour

“[T]errorism should never be framed as a conversation that should be just had with Muslims in a country where white supremacists have killed more people since 9/11 than Muslims have.” – Linda Sarsour, 2017 Annual Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) Convention

FoxNews.com reports that

Controversial activist Linda Sarsour issued a warning to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) as Congress debates immigration reform.

“I’m talking to Chuck Schumer,” Sarsour, a co-founder of the Women’s March, said during a rally in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday. “I’m tired of white men negotiating on the backs of people of color and communities like ours. We are not bargaining chips. This is not a poker game.”

During the rally branded “A Day of Action Against Trump’s White Supremacy,” Sarsour called President Trump a “fascist” and compared Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to the Gestapo.

She also expressed support for amnesty — not only for DREAMers but for all of the millions of people in the U.S. illegally.

Tucker Carlson reacted to Sarsour’s comments on his program Thursday night, pointing out that there are now more immigrants in the U.S. than at any point in our country’s history.

“Is America more united than ever before? Is it stronger? Please, it’s just the opposite. And everyone knows it,” Carlson said.

He argued that’s because our “elites” welcome immigrants to America by telling them how horrible the country is and how bigoted its native population is.

“We’re creating a lot of Linda Sarsours. This is a recipe for civil war,” Carlson warned, explaining that large, diverse countries need a reason to stick together.

“Our elites ought to be staying up late night after night every night trying to figure out what that reason is. Why should we hang together? A shared language, a shared culture, a shared set of core beliefs? Pick one. Our ruling class rejects all of those,” Carlson said. “It won’t end well.”

Calling Linda Sarsour “controversial” is the understatement of the century.

That’s like saying that Antifa are “just a bunch of rowdy kids”.

So, exactly who is this Far Left Activist?

I am glad that you asked, gentle readers.

Sarsour, who is on the payroll of George Soros, has been very busy during the last year, as discoverthenetworks.org explains…

In a January 2017 video explaining that the hijab worn by Muslim women is not by any means a symbol of anti-female oppression, Sarsour said: “When I wasn’t wearing hijab I was just some ordinary white girl from New York City.”  In an April 2017 interview, she identified herself as a woman “of color.” Michelle Pfeiffer’s character in the 1995 movie Dangerous Minds, said Sarsour, had inspired her to become a high-school teacher, a profession through which she herself could, in turn, “inspir[e] young people of color like me, to show them their potential.” Sarsour also told the interviewer that although Middle-Easterners are categorized as “white” by the U.S. Census Bureau, being identified as a person “of color” is “important in the political climate that we are in, because it allows for us to understand where we fit in the larger political landscape. We fit in with marginalized groups, who oftentimes are other people of color.”

Sarsour spoke at a CAIR-Georgia fundraising banquet in February 2017, and was the keynote speaker at the annual dinner of CAIR’s Philadelphia chapter on March 11, 2017.

While participating in a “Day Without A Woman” protest in front of Trump Tower in New York City on March 8, 2017, Sarsour was arrested for refusing to comply with a police request that she and her comrades disperse from the vicinity.

In July 2017, Sarsour was a featured speaker at the 54th Annual Convention of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). She began her speech by thanking her “favorite person in this room … Imam Siraj Wahhaj, who has been a mentor, motivator, and encourager of mine.” She made no mention of Wahhaj’s numerous ties to Islamic terrorism. Also during her address, Sarsour lamented “the potential chaos” that the administration of President Donald Trump would likely inflict “on our community”; stated that “we [Muslims] are struggling against tyrants and rulers not only abroad … but here in the United States of America, where you have fascists and white supremacists and Islamophobes reigning in the White House”; and said that “when I wake up in the morning, and I remember who is sitting in the White House, I am outraged.” “I hope,” Sarsour expanded, “that when we stand up to those who oppress our communities, that Allah accepts from us that as a form of jihad.” Counseling against Muslim assimilation into Western culture, Sarsour declared: “Our number one and top priority is to protect and defend our community. It is not to assimilate and to please any other people in authority. And our top priority … is to please Allah, and only Allah.”

Also during Sarsour’s speech to ISNA, she made the following remarks:

“Every right-wing media outlet in the country. Every right-wing Zionist outlet in the country engaged in coordinated attacks against me to discredit my leadership,” Sarsour told the 54th Annual Islamic Society of North America Convention.
“There are people and Palestinians and solidarity activists who have been working on the issue of BDS [Boycott, Divestment & Sanctions] for a long time. Because I am privileged to have a platform, I have been able to have our country reckon with this conversation about what does it mean for a Muslim or a Palestinian-American to be part of the resistance, and to be working with allies who are now taking up the cause of BDS.”
“[T]errorism should never be framed as a conversation that should be just had with Muslims in a country where white supremacists have killed more people since 9/11 than Muslims have.”
“We have to get to the root of the problem when it comes to terrorism. The root of the problem doesn’t come from within the Muslim community – it comes from a politicized foreign policy of war on our people.”
In November 2017, Sarsour participated in “Anti-Semitism and the Struggle for Justice,” a panel discussion on “how to combat” bigotry against Jews. In the course of the discussion, she said: “If what you’re reading all day long, morning and night, in the Jewish media is that Linda Sarsour and Minister Farrakhan are the existential threats to the Jewish community, something really bad is gonna happen and we gonna miss the mark on it.”

In December 2017, Asmi Fathelbab, a woman who had worked in Sarsour’s Brooklyn office in 2009, stepped forward and claimed that she had been sexually abused by a male in that office during that time. Fathelbab also alleged that when she reported the abuse to Sarsour, the latter bullied her into silence and ridiculed her weight problem. Speaking to The Daily Caller, Fathelbab said that a Muslim man, Majed Seif, who lived in the building where Sarsour’s office was located, would repeatedly rub himself on her body against her will. “He would pin me against the wall and rub his crotch on me,” Fathelbab said. “It was disgusting… You have no idea what it was like to stand up and feel that behind you.” But when Fathelbab told Sarsour about the abuse, Sarsour allegedly called her a “liar” and told her that “something like this didn’t happen to women who looked like me.”

Humble, isn’t she?

And, such a lovely little flower of womanhood.

At one time in the history of our country, what Linda Sarsour does for a living would be called “sedition”. Sedition is overt conduct, such as speech and organization, that tends toward insurrection against the established order

She is getting paid to stir up the populace and getting paid well, I am sure.

Individuals like Linda Sarsour hate average Americans like us.

They hate the country which we have created through Americans’ sacrifice of blood, sweat, and tears. And, like Obama, they remain determined to “radically change” the greatest country on the face of God’s Green Earth in order to meet their dreams of a dystopian society where selfishness rules and the Central Government takes care of the individual’s needs from cradle to grave.

The country that Sarsour wants in an amalgamation of Radical Islamic Barbarism and Marxist Oligarchy, were average Americans would continue to sacrifice, but not to make things better for their families. Instead, the country she envisions is one in which average Americans would sacrifice, dedicating their lives to the “good of the State” and for the honor of glory of Allah. Her bitterness toward our Sovereign Nation is etched into her face and drives her entire being.

It must stink to be so miserable all of the time.

Regarding her calling out Chuck U. Schumer, this should be as entertaining as two Professional Wrestling Heels fighting each other.

Or, even better, Joy Behar launching herself over the desk on “The View” and initiating a cat fight with Whoopie Goldberg.

Pass the Popcorn.

Until He Comes,

Trump Wins the Government Shutdown. Why Did the Dems Fold? – A KJ Analysis

January 23, 2018

dems-deal-gov-shutdown

“The Democrats are now executing pages in their playbook that they’ve executed countless times before. Original technique, original strategies? There aren’t any anymore. The Democrats have become the most predictable group that we have.” – Rush Limbaugh, 1/22/2018

FoxNews.com reports that

The Senate on Monday voted 81-18 to break a Democratic filibuster on a stalled government spending bill, clearing the way for Congress to approve the stopgap measure and end the three-day government shutdown.

Democrats effectively backed off their opposition, after being given assurances from majority Republicans.

Before the vote, Senate Minority Leader Sen. Chuck Schumer made clear that Senate Democrats would supply the GOP-controlled Senate with the votes needed, but only in exchange for “fair” and immediate efforts to consider legislation that would protect illegal immigrants brought to the United States as children.

“We will vote today to reopen the government,” Schumer, a New York Democrat, said on the Senate floor. “In a few hours, the government will reopen.”

The 100-member, Republican-controlled chamber will now need only a simple majority to pass the temporary spending bill that would keep the government open until Feb. 8. The House would then have to approve the bill, sending it to President Trump’s desk.

The funding and reopening of the government would allow U.S. military personnel to be paid, end the furlough of nearly 1 million federal workers and resume all federal services and operations.

But congressional lawmakers made clear after the test vote that they’re still faced with challenges, like how to fund hurricane disaster relief and craft a comprehensive immigration reform bill on which both parties can agree.

“We still have a lot more work to do,” said Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa.

After days and weeks of blaming and finger-pointing, a bipartisan group of senators met Sunday and brokered a deal in which rank-and-file members would provide the 60 votes in exchange for Senate leaders’ promise to immediately proceed to immigration reform.

Democrats largely opposed the stopgap spending bill because it did not include provisions to protect the illegal immigrants from deportation under former President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals executive order.

President Trump last year set a deadline of early March to end the protections. The president has indicated that he wants to provide permanent protections for the young illegal immigrants but has insisted that border security, particularly funding for his U.S.-Mexico border wall, be included in any such deal.

Under the apparent deal to end the filibuster, Schumer said Monday they would negotiate on immigration, and immediately consider such legislation if there’s no agreement by Feb. 8.

Schumer lauded the bipartisan group’s weekend efforts and suggested the group could lead efforts to replace DACA with permanent, legislative protections.

However, he also needled Trump, whom he said on Friday rejected his compromise plan that included money for the border wall.

“Today we enter the third day of the Trump shutdown,” Schumer said before saying we would provide the votes to get to the spending bill. Republicans call it the “Schumer Shutdown.”

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., then thanked Schumer and said: “I think if we’ve learned anything during this process, it’s that a strategy to shut down the government over the issue of illegal immigration is something the American people didn’t understand and would not have understood in the future. So I’m glad we’ve gotten past that.”

With Republicans having just 50 senators available to vote Monday, they needed the support of roughly a dozen Democratic senators to break the filibuster. They got 33, according to the Associated Press.

The 18 senators who didn’t vote to end debate included Republican Sens. Mike Lee, of Utah, and Rand Paul, of Kentucky.

The 15 Democrats in opposition were Sen. Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy, both of Connecticut; Cory Booker and Bob Menendez, both of New Jersey; Catherine Cortez Masto, of Nevada; Kirsten Gillibrand, of New York; Mazie Hirono, of Hawaii; Patrick Leahy, of Vermont; Ed Markey and Elizabeth Warren, both of Massachusetts; Jon Tester, of Montana, Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley, both of Oregon; and Kamala Harris and Dianne Feinstein, both of California. Sen. Bernie Sanders, a Vermont independent, also voted in opposition.

Arizona GOP Sen. John McCain did not vote because he’s home fighting cancer.

McConnell on Sunday night indicated a deal was in the works to break the filibuster, in exchange for immediately addressing Democrats’ desire for immigration reform.

“When the Democrat filibuster of the government funding bill ends, the serious, bipartisan negotiations that have been going on for months now to resolve our unfinished business — military spending; disaster relief; health care; immigration and border security — will continue,” he said Sunday in announcing the Monday vote.

“It would be my intention to resolve these issues as quickly as possible … Importantly, when I proceed to the immigration debate, it will have an amendment process that is fair to all sides. But the first step in any of this is re-opening the government and preventing any further delay.”

Early Monday, before the vote, the Trump White House and Capitol Hill Republicans cranked up the pressure on Democrats to abandon their immediate demands for immigration measures and vote in support of the temporary spending bill.

“They shut down the government,” White House counselor Kellyanne Conway told “Fox & Friends” on Monday morning. “The pressure is on them.”

President Trump tweeted that Democrats shut down the government to appease the “far left base” and are now “powerless” to change course.

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/955428815777533952

“The Democrats are turning down services and security for citizens in favor of services and security for non-citizens. Not good!” he tweeted.

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/955426609326100480

The vote Monday was the GOP-controlled Senate’s second attempt to break the filibuster, after failing to get the required 60 votes Friday. The Friday night vote was 50-49.

So, gentle readers…why did Chuck Schumer and the rest of the Far Left butt-kissing Democrats surrender to President Donald J. Trump and the Republicans?

Of course, you will never hear the word “surrender ” in the Main Stream Media’s accounts of the end of Schumer’s Shutdown, but, that is exactly what happened.

Conservative Political Pundits, including the Maha Rushie himself, stated that the shutdown was cooked up by the Democrats in order to distract from Trump’s Economic Boom, which shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.

This being the case, the Democrats certainly could not admit to it, so, they conjured up a never-ending fountain of crocodile tears for the plight of the “poor Dreamers”, adults who came here illegally as children and have done nothing since then to become legal.

In other words, gentle readers, Dreamers want all of the privilege of being an American Citizen with no personal responsibility attached.

So, with an excuse for shutting down the government fabricated, Chucky and his merry band of Marxists fulfilled their Vision Quest and shut down OUR Federal Government in the name of lawbreakers who should have never been here in the first place.

Brilliant plan, right?

Au contraire, mon frere.

Republicans started getting the attention of average Americans by focusing on the fact that the hard-earned paychecks of our Brightest and Best would not be delivered because of the Democrats placing the welfare of illegal immigrants over that of the sons and daughters of average American Citizens who are serving our country.

There is an old adage in show business stating that if you write a play for the theater or a screenplay for a Hollywood Movie, you had better make sure before you sink money into it that it will “play well in Peoria”, meaning that average Americans would like it and support it.

Unfortunately for the Democrats, and amusingly for the rest of us, the cause du jour which they staked their shutdown on, did NOT “play well in Peoria”.

Judging by how quickly the Dems folded, their internal polling numbers must have resembled the average I.Q. of those kids out there taking the Tide Pod Challenge.

Another factor which went against the Dems’ chance for a victorious outcome to their shutdown, was the fact that we have a sitting American President who is not a professional politician, but rather, a “Citizen Statesman”, who is an expert in negotiation.

He may negotiate…but Trump NEVER backs down.

The last factor which I believe has something to do with the Dems ending the Shutdown, is the fact that Chucky and the Democrats are watching a Political Tsunami building size and momentum offshore, which is heading straight for them, in the form of an investigation into the Deep State Operation against the candidacy of Donald J. Trump, which has been dubbed “Obamagate”.

With a “shocking” 4-page memo detailing covert and treasonous activity designed to usurp the will of the people by the Obama Administration about to be released, Chuck Schumer and the rest of the Democrat Hierarchy realized that they were in an untenable position.

They had to “stop the bleeding” before they “bled out”.

Gentle readers, I cannot remember a time when the Republicans came out on the winning side of a Government Shutdown.

But then again, this is the first time in what seems like forever that they were following the lead of an American President who refused to back down.

The Art of the Deal: Trump Makes Gov’t Funding Deal with Dems to “Clear the Decks” for Tax Reform

September 7, 2017

“MY STYLE of deal-making is quite simple and straightforward. I aim very high, and then I just keep pushing and pushing and pushing to get what I’m after.” ― President Donald J. Trump, Trump: The Art of the Deal

Breitbart.com reports that

President Donald Trump celebrated a deal with Democratic congressional leaders to punt the debt ceiling and government funding to December in an effort to speed up tax reform.

“I’ll tell you what, we walked out of there, Mitch and Paul and everybody, Kevin, and we walked out and everybody was happy,” Trump said after the meeting. “Not too happy — you can never be too happy, but they were happy enough.”

The deal fit neatly with what House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer wanted, but not what Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell or House Speaker Paul Ryan were looking for.

Republicans wanted a longer, 18-month raise of the debt ceiling and government funding, while Democrats see the possibility of a government shutdown in December as a political opportunity. The measure will likely be attached to spending for Hurricane Harvey relief in Texas and Louisiana.

But the White House argued that it was important to make a deal to ensure tax reform could happen.

“We believe that helping to clear the decks in September enables us to focus on tax reform for the American people,” White House Director of Legislative Affairs Marc Short told reporters on Air Force One. “We need to get the economy growing again and that’s what we need to focus on.”

Short said he planned to meet with Congressional members of the Freedom Caucus to discuss the deal, which he argued only extended the debt ceiling for a short time.

Trump appeared delighted to find an easy solution to the process, which many in Washington thought would be bloody.

“It was nice to see that happen for a change,” Trump said, during a tax reform speech in North Dakota. “That hasn’t happened for a long time in this country, for a very long time.”

Why did President Trump feel that he had to basically bypass both Rep. Paul Ryan and Sen. Mitch McConnell, in order to get something done?

Perhaps, he was simply tired of waiting.

Back on May 1st, Rush Limbaugh, the Maha Rushie himself, asked the following during his radio program…

…Why hasn’t there been a flood of legislation emanating from the Republicans in the House and the Senate to begin the process of implementing the Trump agenda? I know, I’ve answered my question. I’m doing this in a rhetorical sense to set up a premise. As I’ve stated many times, the Washington establishment’s totally opposed to Trump. They don’t want anything that Trump campaigned on to happen. They don’t want an outsider coming in and succeeding and thereby demonstrating how it can be done.

Nobody on the outside is supposed to be able to come in and reform Washington and improve it. The establishment has set it up so they have an exclusive, exclusionary club that very few people are capable or qualified to be part of, and that’s that. So the last thing they can afford is for somebody like Trump, who’s not a politician by trade, to come in after winning an election and totally turn the town upside down. They will not do it.

But the dirty little secret is that there isn’t any evidence that anywhere in Washington is there any aspect of the Trump agenda on display. It doesn’t seem to be that in the House of Representatives that there is a desire to implement any of the Trump agenda. It doesn’t seem in the Senate that there is a desire to implement any of the Trump agenda. It does seem in the House that there is a lot of energy devoted to stopping a Trump agenda. Ditto in the Senate.

So the people who are running the show in Washington are impervious and unconcerned about public opinion and the results of an election and are now in the process of doing what they can to thwart the will of the people in a very clear issues-dominated and issues-oriented election. Trump wins, he has a specific agenda. Where are the members of his party writing legislation to get going on the implementation of his agenda?

Where indeed.

What slays me about thwhole situation involving this “Do-nothing Congress” is the fact that the Establishment Republicans seem to be quite content, in their moderately Left-leaning stupor, even after the mandate that We The People delivered to them on November 8th, 2016, to be totally oblivious and tone deaf of their Base, average hard working middle-class Americans like you and me.

You know, the people who actually put them into office.

They keep on making bad choices.

Spineless Vichy Republicans have been a barrier to Republican victory for as long as I can remember. Like Quakers, Establishment Republicans seem to believe that passive resistance and acquiescing to the wishes of Democrats, instead of dealing with them, as Ronald Reagan did with Tip O’ Neil, is the way to defeat those who oppose you.

It was especially bad during Obama’s reign, as the House and Senate Republican Leadership apparently cherished their friendship with the Democrats more than they did the wishes of the folks back home. Yes, they talked a good game, but so did Jon Lovitz in those “Liar Sketches” during the old days of Saturday Night Live, back when they were actually funny.

Yeah,  my wife Morgan Fairchild. Yeah, that’s it. That’s the ticket!

and now, in the ninth month of Trump’s Presidency, Congress remains oblivious to the anger of average Americans, living here in the Heartland, during the 2016 President Election, which gave them control of Capitol Hill.

In 1975, Ronald Wilson Reagan gave a speech which sums up our present situation and average Americans’ visceral disdain for the Professional Politicians, who value the Washingtonian Status Quo, above US.

Americans are hungry to feel once again a sense of mission and greatness.

I don ‘t know about you, but I am impatient with those Republicans who after the last election rushed into print saying, “We must broaden the base of our party” — when what they meant was to fuzz up and blur even more the differences between ourselves and our opponents.

It was a feeling that there was not a sufficient difference now between the parties that kept a majority of the voters away from the polls. When have we ever advocated a closed-door policy? Who has ever been barred from participating?

Our people look for a cause to believe in. Is it a third party we need, or is it a new and revitalized second party, raising a banner of no pale pastels, but bold colors which make it unmistakably clear where we stand on all of the issues troubling the people?

A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers.

I do not believe I have proposed anything that is contrary to what has been considered Republican principle. It is at the same time the very basis of conservatism. It is time to reassert that principle and raise it to full view. And if there are those who cannot subscribe to these principles, then let them go their way.

Note to the GOP Elite:

You guys are now facing the same situation that faced Victor von Frankenstein, in the classic movie: You have created this “monster”.

…a pi$$ed-off base who voted for an “outsider”, a non-professional politician talking directly to the people…

And, you have lost control.

President Trump has shown, by both his words and actions, that he is determined, one way or another, to keep his Campaign Promises to the American People.

Your only hope is to catch this lighting in a bottle and to ride this lightning bolt all the way through Donald J. Trump’s tenure as President of the United States of America, supporting him and passing legislation in accordance with the wishes of the American Voters who made him the “Leader of your Political Party”.

Your phony boloney jobs are at stake.

If you do not straighten up and perform your job, by supporting President Trump, in accordance with the mandate which we gave you on November 8, 2016, those jobs which you have become so comfortable in, can and will be taken away in the next Midterm Elections.

The American People replaced a Professional Politician who screwed up the country with a Citizen Statesman.

You are not exempt from the same fate.

Dear Vichy Republicans: Repeal Obamacare NOW! Sincerely, Your Bosses

July 18, 2017

th7XHBHZGO

I was literally raised by 3 doctors. No, I’m not some genetic experiment, like Arnold Schwarzenegger was in the movie “Twins” with Danny DeVito. I was born a severe asthmatic, caused by being born a month premature to a Mother 3 days before her 40th birthday. These three men worked in the same clinic in Mid-town Memphis, TN. They later went on to become the chairmen of the Medical and Surgery Departments at a local hospital.

Some of my most vivid childhood memories involve laying in one of their examination rooms, with oxygen strapped to my face, as my beloved Daddy waited nervously, by my side.

Asthma treatment back then, consisted of a swig of nasty-tasting yellow Triaminic Syrup, a shot of Epinephrine, an antibiotic shot (usually a Mycin drug), a prescription for Prednisone to alleviate the inflammation, and a prescription for an anti-biotic (again, usually a mycin drug). Thank goodness, back then, (1960s through early 1970s) Sears, where both of my parents worked, had a really good insurance plan.

That being said, I owe my life to those three devoted physicians and the Greatest Healthcare System in the World.

And, to the solid Health Insurance which my parents had through their jobs at Sears Roebuck and Company, jobs which they held until they were forced to retire in the early 1980s by the people who have run that once proud company straight into a rapidly-approaching oblivion.

Unfortunately, America’s Healthcare System, thanks to the Marxist Megalomaniac who formerly resided at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC, is in the process of going that same way, unless Obamacare is repealed immediately.

Foxnews.com reported yesterday that

Republican Senators Mike Lee, of Utah, and Jerry Moran, of Kansas, announced late Monday they would not support the GOP’s most recent version of the Senate health care bill, effectively stalling the legislation.

In a statement released Monday night, Sen. Lee said he will vote no on the Better Care Reconciliation Act.

“After conferring with trusted experts regarding the latest version of the Consumer Freedom Amendment, I have decided I cannot support the current version of the Better Care Reconciliation Act,” Sen. Lee said. “In addition to not repealing all of the Obamacare taxes, it doesn’t go far enough in lowering premiums for middle class families; nor does it create enough free space from the most costly Obamacare regulations.”

Sen. Moran tweeted his official statement in which he voiced his opposition to the Senate’s latest bill, stating, “We should not put our stamp of approval on bad policy.”

The two senators join Senators Rand Paul, of Kentucky, and Susan Collins, of Maine, who both made clear last week they would not support the bill.

With a 52-48 majority, the two senators’ opposition to the bill means it is effectively dead in the Senate.

Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said the Senate’s second failure at attempting to repeal and replace ObamaCare is “proof” that the bill is “unworkable.”

The legislation, which was strongly backed by President Donald Trump, is the second failure in the Senate for Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who had to cancel voting on an earlier version of the bill last month when it became clear it wouldn’t pass. McConnell had planned to “move to proceed” on the health care bill this week.

The Senate bill eliminated mandates and taxes under ObamaCare, and unraveled a Medicaid expansion. But for conservatives like Lee and Paul it didn’t go far enough in delivering on Republican Party promises to undo Obama’s law, while moderates like Collins viewed the bill as too extreme in yanking insurance coverage from millions.

After the announcement of this impasse in the Senate, President Trump tweeted,

Republicans should just REPEAL failing ObamaCare now & work on a new Healthcare Plan that will start from a clean slate. Dems will join in!

Wow. Common sense coming from the White House. How refreshing.

After the President’s Tweet, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell issued the following statement…

“Regretfully, it is now apparent that the effort to repeal and immediately replace the failure of Obamacare will not be successful. So, in the coming days, the Senate will vote to take up … a repeal of Obamacare with a two-year delay to provide for a stable transition period to a patient-centered health care system that gives Americans access to quality, affordable health care.”

There is still one major roadblock preventing the President’s suggestion from becoming a reality:

PROFESSIONAL POLITICIANS

Trump was elected President, to a great degree, because he is NOT a professional politician.

He was an American who wanted to make a difference.

That being the case, his penchant for not beating around the bush, i.e., being direct in his statements and actions, immediately put him at odds with the Vichy Republicans of the G.O.P.

The President is doing his best to fulfill all of the campaign promises he made to those of us who voted for him last November.

As is the case with getting rid of the disastrous failed bureaucratic boondoggle known as Obamacare. since Trump assumed office, there have been two impediments to him keeping his promises to the American People: the Democratic Party…and the Republican Party.

For every promise that we hear from Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, and the rest of the G.O.P. that they are going to support and assist Trump in fulfilling his campaign promises, there are also deals being struck in the Congressional Coatroom, where “business as usual” has always been conducted on Capitol Hill.

The Establishment Republicans seem to be quite content, in their Moderately Left-leaning stupor, even after the mandate that We The People delivered to them on November 8th, 2016, to be totally oblivious and tone-deaf of their Base, average hard working middle-class Americans like you and me.

You know, the people who actually put them into office.

They keep on making bad choices.

Spineless Vichy Republicans have been a barrier to Republican victory for as long as I can remember. Like Quakers, Establishment Republicans seem to believe that passive resistance and reaching out to their sworn enemies as “friends”, is the way to defeat those who oppose you.

It has been especially bad during Obama’s reign, as the House and Senate Republican Leadership apparently cherished their friendship with the Democrats more than they did the wishes of the folks back home. Yes, they talked a good game, but so did Jon Lovitz in those “Liar Sketches” during the old days of Saturday Night Live, back when they were actually funny.

Yeah,  my wife Morgan Fairchild. Yeah, that’s it. That’s the ticket!

I am afraid that the noble sentiments that we hear and the “Hail Fellow well met” reaction to President Trump that we see from Ryan, McConnell, and the rest of the entrenched Republicans are a reenactment of William Shakepeare’s “Julius Caesar”.

Beware the Ides of March.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the Political Aisle, you have San Fran Nan Pelosi and the rest of Democrats criticizing every single move that Trump makes…sometimes even before he makes one.

Backing them up is the Main Stream Media, like the Associated Press, who word their articles about Trump very carefully in their role as the Propaganda Arm of the Democratic Party.

However, they can not hide their bias. Their hatred of the 45th President shines through in both their prose and the individuals they use as sources for their articles.

To summarize, Trump is catching flack from both sides of the Political Aisle.

Clowns to the left of me…jokers to the right…here I am…

Everybody sing!

Just kidding.

If the Republican Establishment keeps mooning average Americans and showcasing their Spines of Jello, instead of supporting President Trump and the mandate which the American People gave them on November 8, 2016, average Americans are going to show them what they think of them by decimating the  entrenched House and Senate Vichy Republicans in the Mid-Term Vote.

In summation, the American people are tired of Political Correctness and anti-American political expediencies being forced down our throats by both political parties looking out for their own personal interests and trumpeted by their lackeys in the Main Stream Media.

Donald Trump, for all of his brashness and braggadocio, is a breath of free air and, quite frankly an anomaly. He’s not a professional politician. He is a businessman who became the President of the United States of America.

I believe that President Trump will continue to navigate his way through these shark-infested waters.

The success that he has achieved as President so far is not just a three-hour tour and he is not Skipper Jonas Grumby.

Although, Congressman Paul Ryan does resemble Gilligan.

But, I digress…

The DNC Fires All of its Staff. Will the Dems Move Even Further to the Left?

March 29, 2017

Clown-Car (4)

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. – Albert Einstein

NBC News reported yesterday that

Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez has launched a major overhaul of the party’s organization, which has been stung by recent crises — and the DNC has requested resignation letters from all current staffers. Party staff routinely see major turnover with a new boss and they had been alerted to expect such a move. However, the mass resignation letters will give Perez a chance to completely remake the DNC’s headquarters from scratch. Staffing had already reached unusual lows following a round of post-election layoffs in December.

Immediately after Perez’s selection as party chairman in late February, an adviser to outgoing DNC Interim Chair Donna Brazile, Leah Daughtry, asked every employee to submit a letter of resignation dated April 15, according to multiple sources familiar with the party’s internal workings.

A committee advising Perez on his transition is now interviewing staff and others as part of a top-to-bottom review process to decide not only who will stay and who will go, but how the party should be structured in the future.

It began with accusations that the DNC favored Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary, continued with the wrenching exposure of hacked emails and the abrupt resignation of former chair, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and concluded with the shocking defeat of its presidential nominee and a divisive race for the new party chairman.

The grueling experience, which followed years in which many Democrats felt the Obama White House ignored the party organization, has left the DNC with a crisis of confidence and competence.

Now Perez, who spent most of his career in government and not politics, needs to rebuild the beleaguered party, take on President Donald Trump, tap into a unique moment of progressive activism across the country, and replenish the party’s coffers.

“I wouldn’t wish that on anybody,” California Gov. Jerry Brown told Chuck Todd on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday. “I was the Democratic Party chairman in California — it’s a miserable job. So, Tom, too bad.”

Perez has spent his first weeks on the job in “active listening mode,” hearing from Democrats in Washington and in small group meetings across the country before making any big moves.

“What we’re trying to do is culture change,” he told NBC News between stops of a listening tour in Michigan on Friday. “We’re repairing a plane at 20,000 feet. You can’t land the plane, shut it down, and close it until further notice.”

It’s a whirlwind job that took Perez from being feted at a donor conference at the Mandarin Oriental in Washington Thursday night to playing Solitaire on his iPhone in row 31 on a Delta flight to Detroit shortly after dawn the next morning.

The DNC will embark on a national search to fill key party positions, overseen by the 30-odd members of the transition advisory committee.

The committee is also reviewing the DNC’s contracts with outside vendors and consultants, a source of complaints from many Democrats.

Progressives also criticized the transition committee’s initial makeup, leading the DNC to add several more members from the left’s ranks.

Earlier this month, Perez held a meeting to discuss the issue with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Sanders, both of whom supported Rep. Keith Ellison in the DNC chair race.

Schumer, pointing to Ellison and Sanders, told Perez, “If he’s happy, and if he’s happy, then I’m happy,” according to two sources.

Perez has included Ellison in many of the DNC’s public events so far, but the party’s charter makes no provision for a deputy chair, so Ellison does not have vote on the DNC. That could be fixed by naming the Minnesota congressman to one of the 75 slots the chairman gets to appoint to the national committee.

Ellison’s political director has also been helping to oversee staffing decisions in some key departments in the DNC, according to several sources.

My parents, God rest them both, were Southern Democrats.

They became Republican in 1980, when they joined me in voting for Republican Presidential Candidate, Ronald Wilson Reagan.

They would both literally lose their minds if they saw what has happened to their former political party of choice.

Evidently, these same Rocke scientists who believed that the “Queen of Mean”, Hillary Clinton, was going to be a popular Presidential Candidate with average Americans living in the Heartland, now believe that they can win the Presidency in future lections by moving even farther to the left.

They just don’t get it.

Even Crazy Uncle Joe Biden gets it. In an interview conducted shortly after the election,

He said his party failed to connect with working-class, largely white voters, and warned that “a bit of elitism” has “crept in” to party thinking.

He recalled watching a Trump rally in Pennsylvania near where he grew up.  “They’re all the people I grew up with,” he said. “They’re their kids. And they’re not racist. They

Remember how refreshing Donald J. Trump’s speech was when he accepted the nomination as the Presidential Candidate of the Republican Party?

What a contrast to what we had heard for 7 and one-half long years from the present occupier of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C.

No racially-divisive rhetoric, no allusions to the Marxism Axioms revolving around Class Warfare, no self-deification, such as

This was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal.

By the way, how did all of  that “Hope and Change” work out for ya?

But, I digress…

Instead, we heard from a man who genuinely LOVED America and her people, instead of viewing us all as racist, misogynist, xenophobes.

And, therein lies the secret of Donald J. Trump’s victory over the Democrats on November 8th.

It was a direct “repudiation” of Obama and his Presidency.

What Trump did, with his refusal earlier in the campaign to “act more presidential”, was to implement a strategy.

Trump has always been a “people person”.

That is the reason that, when he was still a contributor to Fox News, he would speak to everyone in the building, from the maintenance crew, on up the ladder.

As Sam Walton, the Founder of Walmart, knew, you don’t inspire people by acting imperious and above it all.

“Mr. Sam”, until his health would no longer allow him to do so, would travel to Walmart Stores in his old pickup truck, with a tie and a baseball cap on, visiting the employees, in order to find out how his stores were doing.

He knew that the only was to be successful and to stay in touch with the public, was to be out among them, and speak to them honestly and directly, as one would speak to a friend.

The Political Establishment, of both parties, lost that concept, a long time ago.

Bypassing the borders to communication, historically determined by both political parties and the Main Stream Media, is a concept which I first witnessed being employed by a Presidential Candidate in the 1980 Presidential Election, named Ronald Wilson Reagan.

While I am not comparing the two, I am noting that this strategy proved effective, in the case of both Presidential Candidates.

As the polls showed, Trump struck a resonant chord in the hearts of Average Americans, living here in the part of America, which the Modern Democratic Party refer to as “Flyover Country”, but which we refer to as “America’s Heartland”, or, quite simply, “HOME”.

Why did Donald J. Trump become so popular with average Americans?

The reason is very simple: WE WERE ANGRY.

Our palpable anger was one which has been building since January of 2009, when a Lightweight, who has as much in common with average Americans as a Martian would, was inaugurated as President of the United States of America.

That anger, a result of his anti-American actions and resulting policies, which have affected Americans’ daily lives, has been exacerbated by the Republican Elite, who, in their desire to “reach across the aisle” and “go along to get along”, have distanced themselves from those who elected them to Congress in the first place.

Meanwhile, average Americans, like you and me, remained mired up to our necks in an abysmal swamp of bills and taxes, living paycheck-to-paycheck, afraid to make a move, for fearing of drowning in an ocean of debt.

Seemingly forgotten, in all of the forgotten promises, made by Barack Hussein Obama and the Democratic Party, are the over-94 million Americans, who are no longer, largely through no fault of their own, participating in our Workforce.

Anger has played an important part in the forging of this great country.

It was anger that formed our country….an anger over being held captive to “Taxation Without Representation”…an anger which, as a prime example of history repeating itself, Americans expressed on November 8, 2016.

It is this anger, which propelled Donald J. Trump to the Presidency…and those who prefer the Washingtonian Status Quo, on both sides of the Political Aisle,  continue to deny it.

In summation, the Democratic Party and their Presidential Candidate lost the Presidency because the American people were tired of Political Correctness and anti-American political expediencies being forced down our throats by both political parties and trumpeted by their lackeys in the Main Stream Media.

Plus, we did not want to live 4 more of years under ANOTHER MarX/Alinsk-ite, in the person of Hillary Clinton.

In conclusion, the Democratic Party is once again setting themselves up for failure if they rebuild themselves, once again, in to a political party positioned on the Fat Left of the Political Spectrum.

They are not going to gain any ground politically by telling us average Americans that our Traditional Faith and Values are somehow “xenophobic”, “racist” and “anachronistic”.

Judging from the reality of Donald  J. Trump’s victory on November 8th, average Middle Class Americans have had our fill of being marginalized.

And, none of the Democratic Leadership, except for Crazy Uncle Joe Biden, gets it.

Well, even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every now and then.

Until He Comes,

Senate Democrats to Obstruct the Confirmation of Trump’s Cabinet Picks. “Compromise For Thee. None For Me.”

January 3, 2017

democrats-are-planning-to-use-hearings-on-trumps-billionaire-cabinet-picks-to-win-over-the-working-class

To be filed under “The Democrats’ Temper Tantrum Continues…”

Foxnews.com reports that

Senate Democrats reportedly plan to attack eight of Republican President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet picks and stretch their confirmation process from days to perhaps months, despite having essentially no chance of blocking their nominations.

The Democratic senators are vowing to make good on their vow unless the nominees start disclosing personal financial information, according to The Washington Post.

Trump has made eight of 17 Cabinet picks, with four remaining.

The primary targets include Rex Tillerson for secretary of state; Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions for attorney general; South Carolina Rep. Mick Mulvaney for the Office of Management and Budget; Betsy DeVos as the new education secretary and Steve Mnuchin, the former Goldman Sachs executive nominated to be treasury secretary.

“President-elect Trump is attempting to fill his rigged Cabinet with nominees that … have made billions off the industries they’d been tasked with regulating,” incoming Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said Sunday. “If Republicans think they can quickly jam through a whole slate of nominees without a fair hearing process, they’re sorely mistaken.”

Republicans who control the Senate and House plan to begin the confirmation hearings on Trump’s Jan. 20 Inauguration Day.

Republicans have a 52-to-48 majority over Democrats in the Senate.

The nominees will get enough votes in the GOP-run Senate committees but would run into delays when both parties cast final votes on the chamber floor, despite needing only 51 “yeahs.”

Democrats could use procedural moves to extend the debate on each of the nominees. But they don’t have the power to use the filibuster to block the nominations, because in the last Congress they changed the threshold on such filibusters from 60 to 51 votes.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and fellow Republicans don’t like the Democrats’ plan and argue they didn’t oppose outgoing Democratic President Obama’s nominations when he took office in 2008.

“Republicans and Democrats worked together and expeditiously to carefully consider his nominees,” McConnell spokesman David Popp told Fox News on Monday.

Popp points out that the Senate held hearings on multiple nominees before Obama was even sworn in, confirmed seven of them on Day One and that nearly all of them were confirmed within two weeks.

“Sen. Schumer and others approved wholeheartedly of this approach at the time,” Popp continued. “So surely they won’t object to treating the incoming president’s nominees with the same courtesy and seriousness.”

The others on the purported list of eight are Georgia GOP Rep. Tom Price, Trump’s nominee to run the Department of Health and Human Services; Andrew Puzder for labor secretary; and Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt to run the EPA.

Those not on the purported list are Marine Gen. James N. Mattis for defense secretary; South Carolina GOP Gov. Nikki Haley as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations; and former Marine Gen. John Kelly run the Department of Homeland Security.

Is it just me, or have y’all noticed the renewed cry for “Compromise” in the Halls of Power in Washington, DC, which began right after the Presidential Election was decided o the night of November 8, 2016?

This renewed cry of “Can’t we all just get along” is coming as the present President of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm) is about to be replaced by the new Republican President-elect, Donald J.Trump. In other words,  the Democrats  are about to be pushed out of the Halls of Power by the Republicans.

Hence, the “Call for Compromise”.

Because, boys and girls, when Democrats call for “compromise”, they are actually wanting Republicans to surrender and to let them control the country.

I find it quite funny and revealing that the Democrats are calling for “compromise”.

Heck, they always do that when they realize that the things they want to do, are the exact opposite of the will of the majority of the American People….and those same citizens, who can fire their sorry rear-ends every 2 years, have risen up on their hind legs, like a lion about to drop a zebra on the Serengeti.

Look at the facts: You have a Lame Duck President whose Signature Legislation, quite frankly, Marxist in nature, is about to be trashed. It has proven to be a failure and it is opposed by 93% of the American People

Meanwhile, Democrats are calling for “compromise” and “a thorough review” of Trump’s Cabinet Picks in an act of desperation, feverishly attempting to hold on to whatever power and, **cough** credibility they have left.

Now, as any average American with common sense, out here in the Heartland will tell you, when your opponent in a fight is about to land face-first on the ground after a knockout punch, you don’t hold him up and hit yourself in the face at the same time.

However, that is exactly what the Democrats are feebly attempting to persuade the Vichy Republicans in Congress to do.

Lacking any sense of self-preservation, these spineless Professional Politicians, while giving lip service to those who elected them in the Mid-Term Massacre of 2014, are no doubt still reaching across the aisle to their political opponents, offering them support and succor as one would a family member in their time of need.

Remember when Mitch McConnell called The Tea Party Movement, who gave the Republicans the House of Representatives in 2010, “a bunch of bullies?”

Well, it was the same Americans who elected that “bunch of bullies” who just gave Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan a mandate to work under.

The election of Donald J. Trump as the 45th President was the mandate that I am referring to.

A “mandate” is the authority to carry out a policy or course of action, regarded as given by the electorate to a candidate or party that is victorious in an election.

To quote the late , great Slim Pickens in “Blazing Saddles”,

What in the Wide, Wide World of Sports is a’goin’ on here?

I hope  that the professional politicians on the Republican side are not listening  to their Democratic colleagues’ cry for compromise and will refuse to allow the minority of Democrat Senators to slow the Confirmation Process..

What is the matter with you guys? As we say down here in Dixie,

Are y’all just ate up with “The Stupid”?

I can hear the high-pitched whines of the young and dumb and the old and didactic Liberals out there, right now,

But, your President, Reagan, compromised, all the time!!! 1!1! Eleventy!!!

Why, yes, he did. But, 99.99% of the time,,,he got what HE wanted, in the first place…and usually, what the American People wanted. He did his job as the President.

Please compare and contrast to the no-compromise Petulant President, who got all of his Cabinet Picks confirmed in an expedient manner by the Opposition Party and who now meanders his way into the Oval Office, Monday through Friday, around 10:00 a.m., and puts his feet on the Resolute desk.

If you believe that President Reagan would have allowed Iran to have nuclear capability during his lifetime, you probably still live in your Mom’s basement.

In the Real World, from whence  the new president comes, you negotiate from a position of strength, in order to achieve the goals you have set. You are prepared to give the perception of compromise, all the while, moving your opponent in the direction you want them to go, all the while keeping something in your hip pocket, to be used to your advantage.

Unfortunately, both the Democrats and the Vichy Republicans have construed the definition of “compromise” to mean a surrender of Conservative ideals and Political Ideology, and an acceptance all Liberal Political Stances.

If this blatant, oblivious, self-serving stupidity of the part of both Political Parties continues, the new Republican Congress are about to butt heads with the new Republican President-elect.

Fortunately for Americans, Donald J. Trump did not get to where he is in life by making major compromises and his beliefs or in his business dealings.

The American people knew that. That is why he has become the 45th president of the United States of America.

So, all you Democrats professional politicians out there and activist can cry for compromise all you want. However, this ol’ Southern boy believes that it’s falling on deaf ears.

And, all od you Republican Congressmen (and women) who value your phony-baloney jobs had better do your jobs and stand firm in support of the 45th President of the United States of America’s Cabinet Picks.

It was the political compromise of things that should not have been compromised on that got his country in the dubious shape that it is in.

Donald Trump has been given a mandate to do whatever is necessary put America back on the road to prosperity and to bring it back to its rightful place among the countries of the world.

So, there will be no “compromise” on the things that matter to the Americans who elected this new President.

You Liberals are more than welcome to come work with the Trump Administration to help Make America Great Again.

Otherwise, just sit down, shut up, and enjoy the ride.

Trump, Fox News, the Democrat Elite, and “The Art of the Deal”

January 27, 2016

Oval-Office-Trump-ArtOfTheDealLeading Republican Presidential Primary Candidate, Donald J. Trump, was at the top of the News Cycle all day, yesterday.

I’m shocked. Shocked, I tell you.

Eight hours ago, as of this posting, the Presidential Campaign Office of Donald J. Trump issued the following statement on his Official Faceboo Account…

(New York, NY) January 26th, 2016 – As someone who wrote one of the best-selling business books of all time, The Art of the Deal, who has built an incredible company, including some of the most valuable and iconic assets in the world, and as someone who has a personal net worth of many billions of dollars, Mr. Trump knows a bad deal when he sees one. FOX News is making tens of millions of dollars on debates, and setting ratings records (the highest in history), where as in previous years they were low-rated afterthoughts.

Unlike the very stupid, highly incompetent people running our country into the ground, Mr. Trump knows when to walk away. Roger Ailes and FOX News think they can toy with him, but Mr. Trump doesn’t play games. There have already been six debates, and according to all online debate polls including Drudge, Slate, Time Magazine, and many others, Mr. Trump has won all of them, in particular the last one. Whereas he has always been a job creator and not a debater, he nevertheless truly enjoys the debating process – and it has been very good for him, both in polls and popularity.

He will not be participating in the FOX News debate and will instead host an event in Iowa to raise money for the Veterans and Wounded Warriors, who have been treated so horribly by our all talk, no action politicians. Like running for office as an extremely successful person, this takes guts and it is the kind mentality our country needs in order to Make America Great Again.

Yesterday, Trump also said the following in an interview with Mike Barnicle on the seldom-watched cable news channel, MSNBC

Well, I think that I’m going to be able to get along with Pelosi. I think I’m going to be able to — I’ve always had a good relationship with Nancy Pelosi. I’ve never had a problem. Reid will be gone. I always had a decent relationship with Reid, although lately, obciosuly, I haven’t been dealing with him so he’ll actually use my name as the ultimate — you know, as the ultimate of the billionaires in terms of, you know, people you don’t want.

But I always had a great relationship with Harry Reid. And frankly, if I weren’t running for office I would be able to deal with her or Reid or anybody. But I think I’d be able to get along very well with Nancy Pelosi and just about everybody.

Hey, look, I think I’ll be able to get along well with Chuck Schumer. I was always very good with Schumer. I was close to Schumer in many ways. It’s important that you get along. It’s wonderful to say you’re a maverick and you’re going to stand up and close up the country and all of the things, but you have to get somebody to go along with you. You have a lot of people. We have a system. The founders created the system that actually is a very good system. It does work, but it can’t work if you can get nobody to go along with you.

When word came out, my fellow Conservatives made the following  points that

  1. If Trump can’t stand up to Meghan Kelly, how is he going to stand up to Putin and the rest of our enemies?
  2. 2. Who the heck wants to get along with Pelosi, Reid, and Schumer? The next President needs to politically destroy them!

Why did Trump tell Fox News to buzz off?

Why is he talking about “getting along” with the Democrat Elite?

The Godfather of Conservative Talk Radio, Rush Limbaugh, gave a superb analysis of the way Trump operates, on his nationally-syndicated Program, yesterday…

Let me share with you some analysis that will no doubt be misunderstood and distorted in many places in our media, but here we go.  As I’m listening to Trump talk about all this — and not just today. It is fascinating, is it not, that Donald Trump has sort of reframed, or maybe even redefined, the purpose and the position of the presidency as something defined by negotiating deals?  He talks about this all the time. This is important. He’s credibly presenting himself as a skilled dealmaker, as a skilled negotiator.  Therefore, he is positing here that the job of president, to him, is negotiating and dealmaking, foreign and domestic.

Trade equals deals. Foreign policy equals deals such as Iran, the entire Middle East.  Domestic policy equals deals, i.e., making them with Democrats.  By all those deals… Here’s the thing: Every time Trump talks about doing a deal — with Mexico and the wall, you name it, with the ChiComs. Every time he talks about doing deals, he talks about winning them for his position, that nobody else is any good at this, that the people running our government now, elected officials now don’t know how to do deals. They do the dumbest deals ever.

But Trump is gonna do smart deals, because that’s what his life is.

He does deals for everything, and he runs rings around everybody.

He wrote a book on how to do deals better than anybody else.  Even after telling everybody how to do deals, they still can’t do ’em better than he does.  And he’s defined all of this as pro-America, i.e., for the people. Making America great again.  The opposition, or the opposite reactions to Trump among Republicans and others depends on whether people trust or believe him or not.  Trump opposers don’t believe it; Trump supporters do believe it.  He thinks he can make deals with Russia and Putin better than Obama, everybody think is so that’s he’s repositioning everything here as he’s a dealmaker and Cruz can’t do deals because everybody hates him.

Okay.  Let’s talk about deal-making here for a minute.  Just a quick minute or two.  When you are in business, let’s say you’re J.R. Ewing and you’re up against the cartel in Dallas, and you’re making deals, those are businesses deals.  Any kind of a business deal.  The experts who teach business school students how to do deals, the best deals are those in which everybody at the end feels good. The Art of the Deal in business is making sure that you get what you want while making the other side think they got enough of what they want that they’re happy, too.  That in business it’s a bad thing to skunk somebody and leave them with nothing.  Give ’em something, no matter what cards you hold, and if you go into the deal holding none of the cards, the objective is, both sides like it and both sides don’t.  If there’s commonality, if both sides are unhappy they didn’t get it all, fine.  If both sides are happy with what they get to one degree or another, then you got a good deal, an okay deal, and you’re out of there.

In politics, that’s not how it works.  Take a look at the deals the Republicans have done with the Democrats and ask yourself, in every one of them, be it a budget deal, be it an immigration deal, is there any, is there a single deal that the Republicans have made in the past seven years that any of you have felt, “You know what, we got something out of this?”  No. However, if you listen to the Republicans who participated in the negotiation of the deal, they universally come out of there and start telling us, “Hey, you know, we got some stuff in here that we didn’t have. And out of the budget deal you know what that was?  We won back the right to export oil.  We smoked ’em.  We got a great deal.”  And you’re saying, “You think that makes this a good deal?”

So from the Republican establishment standpoint, they think you will be made to believe that they made a good deal if they tout what they think they got out of it.  The Democrats, when they go into one of these deals, it’s smoke city.  There isn’t going to be one iota’s compromise.  The Republicans aren’t gonna get anything that matters.

Now, the Democrats might give them something inconsequential, just enough that the Republicans can leave the negotiation and say, “Look what we got, look what we got here, we did okay.”  And their voters are saying, “You got skunked, you got nothing, we lost it again, and what you promised to do is kick it down the road and we’ll deal with it next time.  It keeps happening and happening.  We didn’t get diddly-squat.”

“Yeah, we did, look at Medicare Part B!  We skunked ’em, we got a brand-new entitlement that’s got conservative free market principles all over.”  You think that was a win?  That’s what we were told after that happened.  How in the world can you, with a Republican administration, Republican House, agree to a new entitlement, it’s your idea for a new entitlement.  And they dare come out and tell us that that’s a win?

But in Trump’s world, where he does deals, he’s gonna have to do business with ’em down the road.  He doesn’t want to make enemies like he says Ted Cruz does.  Ted Cruz is not nasty.  You know, this is the thing.  I have warned them about this I don’t know how many times.  Ted Cruz is not nasty.  (imitating Trump) “He’s a nasty guy. Everybody hates Cruz.”  No, they fear Cruz, maybe respect Cruz, but, hey, look, if you’re running a scam and somebody comes along in your own club and calls you out on it, you’re not gonna love ’em, which is what Cruz did many times.

Addressing the first point concerning Trump’s decision to boycott tomorrow night’s debate,

1.  Trump knows that Fox News has been backing the Republican Elite’s Heir to the Throne, Jeb Bush, since the start of the Republican Primary. He is not going to walk into anywhere that he perceives, right or wrong, to be an ambush.

2. Trump’s real fight is with Roger Ailes, with whom he has been negotiating. Meghan Kelly is simply being used as a focal point.

3. Any publicity is good publicity. Trump evidently feels that this will not hurt his campaign.

4. Leverage.

Concerning Trump’s assertion that he can “get along” with the Democrat Hierarchy…

On July 27. 2012. John Heubush, Executive Director of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation, wrote the following op ed for The Daily Caller

  1. In order to be an effective President, you have to build a Coalition. The most effective President in my lifetime did.

“You’re in the big leagues, now.”

So the speaker of the House said to the 40th president of the United States just days after his inauguration.

It was 1981. The 97th Congress was a mixed bag, with a Democratic-controlled House, led by Speaker Thomas “Tip” O’Neill, and a Senate held by Republicans who, for the first time since 1953, controlled a chamber of Congress.

But Ronald Reagan didn’t think “eight years as governor of one of the largest states in the union had exactly been the minor leagues.” Sacramento had been Reagan’s beta-site where nothing was accomplished until strong coalitions were formed. “It was important to develop an effective working relationship with my opponents in the legislature,” Reagan wrote, “our political disagreements not withstanding.”

What did this adversarial relationship with O’Neill and Democrats produce in the next two years? Caustic gamesmanship? A stand-off? On July 29, 1981, less than six months after Reagan took office, a strong bipartisan coalition in the House passed one of the largest tax cuts in American history, the Economic Recovery Tax Act of 1981. Two days later, the Senate followed suit.

How in the world did Reagan do it? Experience.

Matching wits with Jack Warner (of Warner Brothers) as head of the actors’ union and Jesse Unruh (speaker of the California State Assembly) as governor taught Reagan to come to the bargaining table prepared. “I’d learned while negotiating union contracts,” Reagan wrote, “that you seldom get everything you ask for.” (Years later, the press asked him about negotiating with Gorbachev. “It was easier than dealing with Jack Warner,” Reagan shot back.)

Although the Democrats were in a tough position after the Carter years, their big trump card was that nothing would get done unless Reagan won over a substantial number of them in the House. It’s no wonder that O’Neill was so full of braggadocio.

Somehow Reagan had to build a coalition.

The strategy to get the Economic Recovery Act passed by a conflicted Congress had two major parts.

First, Reagan would use his tremendous skills as a communicator by making repeated televised appeals to Congress and the American people. “Every time he spoke,” Reagan Chief of Staff Jim Baker recalled, “the needle moved.”

Second, the Legislative Strategy Group led by Baker and Ed Meese “did the grunt work” of inviting Democrats to the White House, while the president worked the phones. “I spent a lot of time in the spring and early summer of 1981 on the telephone and in meetings trying to build a coalition to get the nation’s recovery under way,” Reagan wrote. At the time, he even noted in his diary, “These Dems are with us on the budget and it’s interesting to hear some who’ve been here ten years or more say that it is their first time to ever be in the Oval Office. We really seem to be putting a coalition together.”

These “Dems” — the Boll Weevils — were Southern conservative Democrats who became key players in Reagan’s economic recovery strategy. It helped Reagan’s purpose that many represented districts that the president had carried in 1980. If they voted against a popular president, it could cost them their seats in 1982.

“To encourage the Boll Weevils to cross party lines,” journalist Lou Cannon wrote, “Reagan accepted a suggestion by James Baker and promised that he could not campaign in 1982 against any Democratic members of Congress who voted for both his tax and budget bills.” It was a shrewd and effective move.

2. In order to become President of the United States, you must garner more votes than the other party’s candidate. This cannot be done simply by relying on the votes of your own poltical party. You must have ‘crossover votes”.

Back on August 15, 1984, Mark Green, in an article written for the New York Times, titled, “Reagan, The Liberal Democrat”, wrote the following…

To what do we owe these conversions on the road to November? Could it be election-year opportunism? Could it be anything else?

There is a kind of historical consistency in this inconsistency: As Will Rogers noted back in the 1920’s: ”The Republicans have a habit of having three bad years and one good one, and the good ones always happened to be election years.”

If Ronald Reagan holds to this path, he may soon end up back among the Americans for Democratic Action, which he fled and renounced in the 1950’s.

Not surprisingly, ideological fellow-travelers such as the commentators William F. Buckley Jr. and Pat Buchanan have expressed dismay over their champion’s apostasy. Mr. Buchanan worries that by flirting with the idea of a summit meeting, the President ”is playing with the national security of the U.S.”

Mr. Reagan’s election-year liberalism appears designed to win over those political independents and weak Democrats who might otherwise recall him as the man who has opposed all but one of the major civil rights laws and nuclear arms control pacts of the past two decades.

Will it work? Only if these constituencies believe his reversals to be principled and permanent – and that seems unlikely. To conclude now that Ronald Reagan has suddenly become pro-environment, pro-arms control, pro-food stamps and pro-regulation is to believe that a sow’s ear can become a silk purse merely by declaring itself so.

Besides, swing voters faced this fall with the equivalent of two Democratic tickets may just as well decide to vote for the real McCoy rather than the imitation brand.

The New York Times was a Liberal Schlock Sheet, even way back in 1984.

They, like the rest of the Liberals in the Media back then, could not stand Ronald Reagan. That’s no secret. However, even they understood what Reagan. He was attracting “crossover votes” for his Second Presidential Campaign.

The constant deal-making, bravado and braggadocio, and his “willingness to work together” are arrows in the quiver of Donald J. Trump, which have served him well in the past, and have helped him become an American Success Story,

We shall see if those arrows find their mark during the Republican Presidential Primary Battle and later, the President Campaign, if he is the Nominee.

Similar arrows found the mark for Ronald Reagan.

Until He Comes,
