“Sit-In For Gun Control”: House Democrats Throw a Temper Tantrum

June 23, 2016

“There are those in America today who have come to depend absolutely on government for their security. And when government fails they seek to rectify that failure in the form of granting government more power. So, as government has failed to control crime and violence with the means given it by the Constitution, they seek to give it more power at the expense of the Constitution. But in doing so, in their willingness to give up their arms in the name of safety, they are really giving up their protection from what has always been the chief source of despotism — government.” – Ronald Wilson Reagan

The New York Times reports that

A Democratic protest demanding votes on gun-control legislation led to pandemonium in the House chamber that did not end until early Thursday, when Speaker Paul D. Ryan and his fellow Republicans reclaimed control long enough to force through a major spending bill. They then abruptly adjourned and left the Capitol.

Furious Democrats remained on the House floor, where they huddled around their leader, Representative Nancy Pelosi of California, who praised their stand as a “discussion heard around the world.”

Ms. Pelosi expressed bewilderment at the Republican position. “What could they be thinking?” she asked. “Whatever it is, they don’t want to tell anybody about it. That’s why they left in the dead of night.”

The standoff, which began with a Democratic sit-in on the House floor just before noon on Wednesday, did not end until about 3 a.m. Thursday when Mr. Ryan — barreling over Democrats’ objections — took the rare and provocative step of calling a vote on a major appropriations bill in the wee hours and without any debate. He then adjourned the House, with no legislative votes scheduled until July 5.

The House approved the bill, which includes $1.1 billion in emergency financing to fight the mosquito-borne Zika virus — and more than $80 billion in other government spending — by a vote of 239 to 171 shortly after 3 a.m.

Republicans dashed from the chamber into the sticky heat gripping Washington and were met by protesters who jeered, with some shouting, “Do your job!”

Earlier, as Democrats fought for control of the floor, they pressed against the speaker’s dais, waving signs with the names of gun victims and chanting “No bill! No break!” as Mr. Ryan repeatedly banged his gavel in an attempt to restore order.

When Mr. Ryan left the speaker’s chair, Democrats shouted: “Shame! Shame! Shame!”

There were scenes of chaos across the floor as Republicans tried to resume regular business. At one point, Democrats began singing “We Shall Overcome” — altering the lyrics to say “We shall pass a bill some day” — as Republicans shouted in outrage.

And when Representative Don Young, Republican of Alaska, tried to confront the chanting Democrats, he was restrained by aides and colleagues.

The unusual events were set off with the sit-in before noon when Democrats insisted on taking votes on gun measures before Congress began its weeklong recess for the Fourth of July.

“We will not leave the floor of this House until this Congress takes action!” Representative Kathy D. Castor, Democrat of Florida, declared.

Democrats — who do not have enough strength in either the House or Senate to pass legislation on their own — have resorted to spectacle to highlight their anger over Congress not taking action to tighten the nation’s gun-control law.

Why are the House Democrats doing this?

Are they having some sort of LSD flashback to their Collegiate days, during which they barricaded the college Dean’s office and smoked dope?

Perhaps, they believe that if they sit long enough John Lennon and George Harrison will rise from their graves and the Beatles will show up and lead them in a rousing chorus of “All We Are Saying is Give Peace a Chance.”

More than likely, they believe that the spineless Republican Elite will cave in to their demands simply because they are throwing an adult temper tantrum.

As I have been reading on Facebook Political Pages, these Congressional Democrats , including their presumptive presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and those who have donned brown shirts and who are in lockstep with them, erroneously believe that Americans want their 2nd Amendment rights taken away from them or somehow modified, as a feel-good measure that will do nothing to prevent Radical Islamists from slaughtering us.

The Americans whom I see carrying their pistols strapped to their hip in Walmart down here in Mississippi, where Open Carry is legal, would fervently disagree with them.

The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution does not just apply to the Bodyguards of Modern American Liberals.

If some of those Americans in Orlando at that night club in which Omar Mateen murdered 49 of them and wounded 53 others, had been carrying, his planned slaughter would have been stopped very quickly.

Perhaps, even before it began.

This unseemly adult temper tantrum that the house Democrats are throwing is not one of sympathy for the American people. They could care less what we think.

These are the same people that smile like Chessshire Cats when they think about the yanking of over a million American babies a year out of their mothers wombs.

No, boys and girls, this is all about illusion and control.

Democrats know that Donald J. Trump is about to win the presidency in November in a political landslide.

This demonstration is an illusion created to attempt to convince the American people that the majority of us are for restricting our 2nd Amendment rights for the express purpose of eventually taking away our guns and our means to defend ourselves from enemies foreign and domestic.

Unfortunately, for these overage immature hippies in the House of Representatives, they are fooling no one.

The overwhelming majority Americans have no wish to be defenseless.

Those of us who have learned from history remember the words of Marxist Revolutionary Vladimir Lenin:

One man with a gun can control 100 without one.

We, like our Founding Fathers, have no wish to be “controlled”.

Obama, Cuba, Che Guevara, and Donald Trump: The Hyprocrisy of the Left

March 21, 2016

obama-cubaWe are calling on Cuba to unleash the potential of 11 million Cubans by ending unnecessary restrictions on their political, social, and economic activities.  In that spirit, we should not allow U.S. sanctions to add to the burden of Cuban citizens that we seek to help. – President Barack Hussein Obama, December 17, 2014

Those who cannot remember the past are doomed to repeat it. – George Satayana

USA Today reports that

Just hours before President Obama landed Sunday in Cuba for his historic visit to the communist island, Cuban authorities arrested more than 50 dissidents who were marching to demand improved human rights.

Members of the group, known as the Ladies in White, are used to the routine. They march each Sunday after Mass at a church in a suburb of Havana called Miramar and usually get arrested and detained for hours or days.

Some in the group thought Cuban authorities would back off this Sunday out of respect for Obama’s visit. Berta Soler, one of the founding members who has been marching since 2003, said while walking to the church Sunday morning that maybe they would be allowed to protest without getting arrested.

“Everything looks good so far,” she said.

Despite dozens of international reporters in town for Obama’s trip, the group was quickly rounded up in buses and police cars.

“For us, it’s very important that we do this so President Obama knows that there are women here fighting for the liberty of political prisoners,” Soler said before being arrested. “And he needs to know that we are here being repressed simply for exercising our right to express ourselves and manifest in a non-violent way.”

Obama’s three-day trip to Cuba is to highlight the new relationship between the Cold War foes. After more than five decades of political and economic isolation, the two nations announced in December 2014 that they would re-establish diplomatic relations. Embassies have since reopened in Havana and Washington, U.S. cellphones can be used in Cuba, U.S. airlines are planning direct flights to the island, and several U.S. companies have struck deals to trade with Cuba.

Obama is expected to embrace those changes during his trip, but the issue of human rights has been the most difficult negotiating point leading up to his visit. Secretary of State John Kerry was supposed to visit the island ahead of Obama’s trip but canceled because of disagreements over whom he could meet with.

The White House has said that Obama will meet with a group of dissidents on Tuesday, but several have said they’re unsure whether they’ll be able to attend.

Guillermo Farinas, a leading voice in Cuba’s civil rights movement who is part of the group that could meet Obama, is camped out at a friend’s house this week because he said Cuban authorities have ordered him to be on house arrest. He said many other dissidents like him are being blockaded in their homes ahead of Obama’s visit. Because of that, he said Obama has a “moral responsibility” to strongly criticize Cuba’s human rights record and push the government to improve before the U.S. further expands its relationship with Cuba.

“The most important thing for us is that President Obama doesn’t allow the Cuban government to use his visit to create an image of complicity with the actions of the totalitarian regime,” Farinas said.

The Cuban government declined to comment on Farinas’ claim that he and other dissidents were under house arrest.

Don’t hold your breath, Senor Farinas.

Didn’t you know? Being a Marxist is cool.

Just ask the Liberal American Millennials walking around with their Che Guevara t-shirts on.

They remember Che differently than I am sure that you and those of your countrymen that are seeking freedom from tyranny do.

If these members of the “Young and Dumb” had actually read a book, they would burn those stupid t-shirts.

Cuban children are taught in state-run schools that Che was a doctor, even though he had no medical degree.

They are taught that he was a kind soul who cared for the poor and the oppressed, and a brave guerrilla leader who helped to liberate the downtrodden Cuban People from the oppressive tyrant Batista.

And, Jack the Ripper was a surgeon who made House Calls.

Humberto Fontova’s “Exposing the Real Che Guevara” paints a vivid picture of the real Che Guevara:

In his biography of Che, Fontova quotes a Cuban exile who is identified by the pseudonym of “Charlie Bravo”

I’d loved to have seen those Sorbonne and Berkeley and Berlin student protesters with their ‘groovy’ Che posters try their ‘anti-authority’ grandstanding in Cuba at the time. I’d love to have seen Che and his goons get their hands on them. They’d have gotten a quick lesson about the ‘fascism’ they were constantly complaining about—and firsthand. They would have quickly found themselves sweating and gasping from forced labor in Castro’s and Che’s concentration camps, or jabbed in the butt by ‘groovy’ bayonets when they dared slow down and perhaps getting their teeth shattered by a ‘groovy’ machine-gun butt if they adopted the same attitude in front of Che’s militia as they adopted in front of those campus cops.

In the instruction to that book, Fontova writes that,

If Cuban Americans strike you as too passionate, over the top, even a little crazy, there is a reason. Practically every day, we turn on our televisions or go out to the street only to see the image of the very man who trained the secret police to murder our relatives—thousands of men, women, and boys. This man committed many of these murders with his own hands. And yet we see him celebrated everywhere as the quintessence of humanity, progress, and compassion.

So, while their President and his family were jetting to Cuba, on Air Force One, on the American Taxpayer’s dime, celebrating the “Progressive Freedom” that only Marxism can bring (that’s sarcasm, boys and girls), America’s Che Worshippers were back home, wearing their Che T-shirts, brandishing posters proclaiming American Businessman, Entrepreneur, and Leading Republican Primary Candidate Donald J. Trump a “fascist”, and a modern “Hitler”, while blocking roads, jumping on people’s cars, and marching lockstep on the streets of New York City, in scenes reminiscent of the Cuban Revolution.

United States President Ronald Reagan once said,

How do you tell a communist? Well, it’s someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It’s someone who understands Marx and Lenin.

What we are witnessing among the Far Left Power Brokers, and their “Young and Dumb Foot Soldiers”, is a purposeful obtuseness, as to both our Constitutional Rights and the harsh reality of Marxism.

History repeats itself.

Irony is embarrassed.

Why Are Liberal Democrats So Gung Ho About “Controlling” the Internet?

February 11, 2015

obamabillofrightsCongress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. – The First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America

The Washington Examiner reports that

Claiming that thousands of public comments condemning “dark money” in politics can’t be ignored, the Democrat-chaired Federal Election Commission on Wednesday appeared ready to open the door to new regulations on donors, bloggers and others who use the Internet to influence policy and campaigns.

During a broad FEC hearing to discuss a recent Supreme Court decision that eliminated some donor limits, proponents encouraged the agency to draw up new funding disclosure rules and require even third-party internet-based groups to reveal donors, a move that would extinguish a 2006 decision to keep the agency’s hands off the Internet.

Noting the 32,000 public comments that came into the FEC in advance of the hearing, Democratic Commissioner Ellen L. Weintraub said, “75 percent thought that we need to do more about money in politics, particularly in the area of disclosure. And I think that’s something that we can’t ignore.”

But a former Republican FEC chairman said in his testimony that if the agency moves to regulate the Internet, including news voices like the Drudge Report as GOP commissioners have warned, many thousands more comments will flood in in opposition of regulation.

“If you produce a rule that says we are going to start regulating this stuff, including the internet and so on, I think you will see a lot more than 32,000 comments come in and I don’t think staff will analyze them and find that 75 percent are favorable to more regulation,” said Bradley Smith, now with the Center for Competitive Politics.

Democratic Chairwoman Ann Ravel, who called the hearing, has said she wants to regulate politicking on the Internet, though she has pulled back amid a public outcry, especially among conservatives who see her move as a bid to silence center-right websites and Internet based conservative groups and news sites.

However, two groups, including the League of Women Voters, said they support more disclosure by those who use the Internet to influence campaigns and policy.

It has always amazed me, during the time I spend on the internet, on Political Facebook Pages and Websites, how those who claim to be the most tolerant among us are actually the least tolerant of all.

This congressperson and her dear leader, President Barack Hussein Obama, epitomize Liberals’ intolerance toward those of us who do not share their political ideology.

Both seek to restrict the Internet, as a means of shutting down Americans’ Freedom of Speech.

The reason for that, is simple. Citizen bloggers, such as myself, daily expose the shenanigans and chicanery of an Administration and a political party seemingly bereft of Traditional American Values and Ethics.

For a president and political party, who claimed to be the most transparent public servants whom we have ever seen in national office, they seem overly concerned at the free flow of information about them, that the public not only needs, but deserves to know.

Of course, this reluctancy to allow information to get to the public, is nothing new in the annuls of American politics… or in the political history of President Barack Hussein Obama.

Obama learned to ply his trade in the smoke-filled backrooms of Chicago, Illinois, where shady political deals were made and potential candidates were created.

Obama became president as a result of these backroom dealings and as a result of a restricted flow of information concerning his background, which hampered anyone who wished to vet him as a candidate.

Of course, the fact that both the Chicago and the national news media covered for him by creating fairy tales about how wonderful he was and how the oceans would recede at the wave of his mighty hand and we would all get unicorns in our backyards, had something to do with his election, as well.

But, I digress..

Obama and the Democrats have been trying to regulate the Internet for years now. And, there’s a reason for that.

The cold hard fact of the matter is that Liberalism, like Socialism, is a failed ideology, which took a divergent path from reality, a long time ago.

The only way that Liberals, who actually are still only 23% of America’s population, can maintain any sort of political leverage and power, is by concealing their true intentions through manipulation of the Main Stream Media and by controlling the flow of information, so that the public remains in the dark as to the Machiavellian nature of their true feelings about their relationship with the average American voter.

Obama and the Democratic Party prefer to employ a Mushroom Policy, when it comes to informing the Public as to what they are doing.

They want to keep us in the dark and feed us…well…you know.
